About Dr Shahidi

Dr Shahram Shahidi

Dr Shahidi is an Australian qualified and board-certified Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist Surgeon. He has received the highest qualification awarded to Australian Surgeons – FRACS. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons is recognition of intense academic and advanced surgical training being fulfilled. His primary interest and area of expertise is Rhinoplasty Surgery. Dr Shahidi treats all aspects of nasal and sinus pathology and disease.

Dr Shahidi attended secondary school on Sydney’s leafy North Shore and was awarded with academic excellence prior to University entrance. It has always been his desire to help people; medicine and surgery has provided that pathway.

Upon completion of his medical and research degree from the University of Sydney he commenced his internship and basic surgical training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney following completion of his second year of advanced general surgical training he started training in Otorhinolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery programme. After 4 more years of intensive study he completed his fellowship of the College of Surgeons.

Further studies lead to completion of the Fellowship of Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery in Sydney. Dr Shahidi proceeded to the USA and UK. In USA he completed two mini fellowships in facial plastic surgery in Oregon and Indianapolis; this was followed by attendance at the workshop in rhinoplasty surgery in Chicago.

Whilst in the UK Dr Shahidi was the Clinical Fellow in rhinology and rhinoplasty surgery based at Charing Cross Hospital, London and also at Royal United Hospital in Bath. Both positions demanded an expert working knowledge of surgical techniques and their application to nasal, sinus anatomy and pathology.

Dr Shahidi has enjoyed mentorship and expertise alongside the world’s leaders in Rhinoplasty and Facial Plastic Surgery, Drs Ted Cook, Tom Wang, Stephen Perkins, Martyn Mendelsohn, Hesham Saleh and Ian MacKay.

This international training and expertise has given Dr Shahidi a well rounded and broad-minded approach and is able to treat any face of any ethnic origin. His practice thrives on word-of-mouth referrals from both General Practitioners and patients who are overwhelmed with their results. Dr Shahidi has no media presence and does not advertise and prefers to be a quiet achiever. He is continually committed and dedicated to continued education of advanced surgical techniques and methods in the art and science of Rhinoplasty.

Dr Shahidi has performed countless rhinoplasties and been involved in the care of many hundreds more. His treatment philosophy is to create not just an aesthetically beautiful nose but a healthy, functional airway. Above all, Dr Shahidi employs a professional team of people who assure discretion and welcome you on your journey of a life-altering event.
